These juicy chicken tacos are full of authentic Mexican flavor and super easy to make at home. Perfect for dinner, parties, or a weekend treat!

📝 Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the chicken:

  • 2 chicken breasts (or thighs), boneless and skinless

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Juice of 1 lime

For the tacos:

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1 tomato, chopped

  • ½ red onion, finely chopped

  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)

  • ½ cup sour cream or Mexican crema

  • Lime wedges (for serving)

🍳 Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken:
In a bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and lime juice. Coat the chicken pieces well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes (longer is better).

  2. Cook the chicken:
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for about 6–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice or shred.

  3. Warm the tortillas:
Heat tortillas on a dry pan for 30 seconds per side or wrap in foil and warm in the oven.

  4. Assemble the tacos:
Place chicken on the tortilla, then top with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and coriander. Add a drizzle of sour cream or crema.

  5. Serve and enjoy:
Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra zing!

Serving Tip

Add guacamole or a spicy salsa for even more Mexican flavor. Serve with a side of Mexican rice or beans for a complete meal.
